40 ut timeant te cunctis diebus, quibus vivunt super faciem terræ, quam dedisti patribus nostris.

Verse 40. And thus the spiritual man acquires a dread of doing evil which is perpetual, springing from a love of what is good, this love itself constituting the heavenly state which is given to the regenerate man by the Lord.
