14 For these nations, which thou◦ shalt possess, hearkened to▵ wizards, and to▵ diviners; but as for thee◦, Jehovah thy God has not given thee to do so.

Verse 14. For the natural affections over which you shall obtain dominion are prone to follow the falsities proceeding from the love of self and self-derived intelligence, but the regenerate will is restrained by the Divine Love and Wisdom from doing so.
