17 And it was, after these things, that the son of the woman, the mistress◦ of the house, became·​·sick; and his sickness was very severe*, until no◦ breath was remaining in him.

Verse 17. But nevertheless, it must happen, that, when a state of vastation exists in the church, the affection of interior truth from good will be tempted, because essential truth will suffer from evils and falsities; and this to so great an extent that it will appear to be extinct.
