6 And Solomon did that which was net pleasing before the Lord, and did not fully follow the Lord, as David his father.

Verse 6. The consequence of which is, that the man of the church is apparently in good, but really in evil, nor can he, in this corrupt state, be led by truth to good, as is the case in the spiritual state preceding the celestial.
