That this signifies the thought, namely of those who were in falsities from evil, is evident from the signification of “saying,” when evil assails, as being thought (see n. 7094, 7107, 7244, 7937); and from the signification of “the Egyptian,” as being those who were in falsities from evil (n. 8132, 8135, 8146, 8148).
