14 Israel stretched out his right hand, and laid it on Ephraim's head, who was the younger, and his left hand on Manasseh's head, guiding his hands knowingly, for Manasseh was the firstborn.

6246. 'And I buried her on the road to Ephrath' means the casting away of that state. This is clear from the meaning of 'burying' as casting away, dealt with in 4564; and from the meaning of 'Ephrath' as the spiritual of the celestial in a former state, 6245.
