It is enough to know that truly conjugial love has direct communication with the third heaven, and also that love itself with its heavenly pleasure is preserved there in all its variety, together with acts such as kissing, embracing and many more things which give pleasure to that heaven. For that heaven is in communication with good affections, while the spiritual heaven is in communication with thoughts of truth. From this it is clear that filthy affections and thoughts completely close either heaven.
