5370. 'And Joseph opened all the places in which [there was grain]' means a communication of remnants. This is clear from the meaning here of 'opening' as communicating. 'All the places in which' are the storehouses where grain was kept and by which remnants are meant, as stated several times above. For remnants are forms of good and truth stored away by the Lord in interior parts, see 468, 530, 560, 561, 660, 661, 798, 1050, 1738, 1906, 2284, 5135, 5342, 5344.
