1342. Verse 14 And Shelah lived thirty years, and he begot Eber.

'Shelah lived thirty years' means the beginning of the third state, 'Shelah' here, as previously, meaning that which is the offspring of knowledge. 'And he begot Eber' means a derivative from this, 'Eber' being a nation, the Hebrew nation, which took its name from Eber as its forefather, and which means the worship in general of the second Ancient Church.

1 Balaam said to Balak, "Build me here seven altars, and prepare me here seven bulls and seven rams."

2 Balak did as Balaam had spoken; and Balak and Balaam offered on every altar a bull and a ram.

3 Balaam said to Balak, "Stand by your burnt offering, and I will go: perhaps Yahweh will come to meet me; and whatever he shows me I will tell you." He went to a bare height.
