8213. 'From within the pillar of fire and cloud' means [thus] the presence of God's goodness and truth there. This is clear from the meaning of 'the pillar of fire and cloud' as the Lord's presence, dealt with in 8110, consequently the presence of God's goodness and truth, since where the Lord is, so is goodness and truth. For what specifically is meant by 'the pillar of fire and cloud', see 8106, 8106(end), 8108.
