13 Ei yksikään käsi pidä häneen rupeeman, vaan hän pitää täydellisesti kivitettämän, eli kohdastansa ammuttaman lävitse, joko se eläin taikka ihminen olis, ei pidä sen elämän. Koska ääni rupee pitkään kajahtamaan, silloin he vuorelle astukaan.

8834. And Moses said unto Jehovah. That this signifies the thought of truth from the Divine, is evident from the signification of “saying,” when by the truth from the Divine which is represented by Moses, as being thought (see also n. 3395, 7107, 7244, 7937). It is said “the thought of truth from the Divine,” and there is meant thought with him who represents truth from the Divine. The reason why it is so said is also because the truth with a man thinks, and the man in whom the thought is thinks by means of truth. For the Lord flows in through good into truth, and so gives life to a man. This life appears in the man as his, but it is of the Lord in the truth from good that is with him. Because this is so, the angels speak in this manner, for they attribute thought to truth from good abstractedly from person, and thus at the same time perceive whence comes the thought of truth. From all this it is evident what angelic speech is, and that it is the speech of wisdom.

7107. And Pharaoh said. That this signifies the will of those who infest the truths of the church, is evident from the signification of “saying,” as being will (of which in what follows); and from the representation of Pharaoh, as being those who infest the truths of the church (see n. 6651, 6679, 6683), thus who infest those who are of the spiritual church, for these are said to be in the truths of the church. That “saying” signifies to will, or the will, is because it involves the things which follow it; for when anyone wills anything, he utters it. As “he saith” involves the things which follow, it consequently signifies various things, as command (n. 7036); exhortation (n. 5012, 7033, 7090); communication (n. 3060, 4131, 6228); thought (n. 7094); properly, perception (n. 1791, 1815, 1819, 1822, 1898, 1919, 2080, 2862, 3509, 5687).
