6154. 'Look, here is seed for you, and you may sow the ground' means the good of charity and the truth of faith that are to be implanted. This is clear from the meaning of 'seed' as truth derived from good, or faith from charity, thus both of them, dealt with in 1025, 1447, 1610, 1940, 2848, 3038, 3310, 3373, 3671; from the meaning of 'sowing' as implanting; and from the meaning of 'ground' as receptacles, dealt with in 6135-6137. But once the truth and good have been implanted, 'the ground' no longer means a receptacle of them but that which actually constitutes the Church, as with 'the field', 566.

2848. 'Your seed' means spiritual people who, having that good within them that springs from faith, are saved by the Lord's Divine Human. This is clear from the meaning of 'seed' as faith that is the expression of charity, dealt with in 1025, 1447, 1610, 1941, or what amounts to the same, those members of the human race who possess faith that is the expression of charity, that is, who are spiritual people. They are also called by the Lord 'the seed' and 'the sons of the kingdom', in Matthew,

He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man, but the seed are the sons of the kingdom. Matthew 13:37-38.
