5401. 'Jacob' means the natural so far as truth known to the Church is concerned. This is clear from the representation of 'Jacob' as the doctrine of truth in the natural, and in the highest sense as the Lord's natural as regards truth, dealt with in 3305, 3509, 3525, 3546, 3599, 4009, 4538.
