ויאמר בלעם אל־מלאךיהוה חטאתי כי לא ידעתי כי אתה נצב לקראתי בדרך ועתה אם־רע בעיניך אשובה לי׃

Verse 34. Whence the corrupted will now perceives that it has opposed Divine Truth, and has been blinded by selfish desires; and therefore, from selfish fear, it is willing to be outwardly obedient.
