Zechariah 11

Სწავლა

1 Open thy doors, O Lebanon, and the fire may devour thy cedars.

2 Howl, O fir tree, for the cedar has fallen, because the magnificent are devastated; Howl, O ye oaks of Bashan, for the forest of Bazar* has come··down.

3 There is a voice of the howling of the shepherds, for their magnificence is devastated; there is a voice of the roaring of young··lions, for the pride of the Jordan is devastated.

4 Thus says Jehovah my God: Pasture the flock of the slaughter,

5 whose buyers kill them, and hold· not themselves ·as··guilty; and those who sell them say, Blessed be Jehovah, and I am··rich; and their own shepherds pity them not.

6 For I will not have··pity any··more over those dwelling in the land, says Jehovah; but, behold, I will make man to be found, a man given into the hand of his companion, and into the hand of his king; and they shall beat··down the land, and from their hand I will not rescue them.

7 And I pastured the flock of the slaughter on account of you, O afflicted of the flock. And I took for myself two sticks: the one I called Pleasantness, and the other one I called Cords; and I pastured the flock.

8 And I cut··off the three shepherds in one month, and My soul cut· them ·short, and their soul also abhorred Me.

9 And I said, I will not shepherd you. That which dies, let it die, and that which is to be cut··off, let it be cut··off. And let those who are left eat, a woman the flesh of her companion.

10 And I took My stick, Pleasantness, and hewed· it ·off, to make· My covenant ·of··none··effect, which I had cut with all the peoples.

11 And it was made··of··none··effect in that day; and so the afflicted of the flock that kept··watch··on Me knew that it was the word of Jehovah.

12 And I said to them, If it is good in your eyes, give me my wage; and if not, forbear. And they weighed My wage, thirty pieces of silver.

13 And Jehovah said to me, Cast it to the potter—a magnificent price that I was··priced among them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast it into the house of Jehovah to the potter.

14 And I hewed··off My second stick, Cords, to make··of··none··effect the brotherhood between Judah and Israel.

15 And Jehovah said to me, Take for thyself yet··again the instruments of a stupid shepherd.

16 For, behold, I will raise··up a shepherd in the land; those who are cut··off he will not visit; the lad he will not seek, and the broken he will not heal; he who stands··up he will not sustain, but he shall eat the flesh of the nourished and pull··off their hoofs.

17 Woe to the shepherd of a vain··god, forsaking the flock! The sword shall be against his arm, and against his right eye; his arm drying··up shall be··dried··up, and his right eye dimming shall be··dim.

Isaiah 9

Სწავლა

1 8:23 For the obscurity shall not be such as was its oppression in the former time, when He reviled the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali; but afterwards He will honor them by the way of the sea, across the Jordan, Galilee of the nations.

2 1 The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; they who dwelt in the land of the shadow··of··death, on them has the light given··brightness.

3 2 Thou hast multiplied the nation; for him Thou hast magnified the gladness; they are··glad before Thee as with the gladness in the harvest, as they rejoice who part the spoil.

4 3 For the yoke of his burden, and the rod of his shoulder, the staff of the taskmaster over him, hast Thou broken, as the day of Midian.

5 4 For every mob shall be deranged by the earthquake; and the raiment rolled in bloods* shall be for burning··up, even food for the fire.

6 5 For a Child is born to us, a Son is given to us; and the sovereignty* shall be on His shoulder; and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, God, Hero, Father Everlasting, Prince of Peace.

7 6 Of the multiplying of His sovereignty and peace there shall be no end; on the throne of David, and on his kingdom, to establish her*, and to sustain her, in judgment and in justice, from now and even··to eternity; the zeal of Jehovah of Armies will do this.

8 7 The Lord has sent a word into Jacob, and it has fallen in Israel.

9 8 And all the people shall knowEphraim, and he who dwells in Samaria—with pride and magnifying the heart, saying,

10 9 The bricks have fallen, but we will build with hewn stone; the mulberry··fig··trees are hewn··down, but we will change them for cedars.

11 10 Therefore Jehovah will raise up the adversaries of Rezin against him, and mingle his enemies together,

12 11 the Syrians from the east, and the Philistines from the west; and they shall devour Israel with open mouth. For all this His anger is not turned··back, but His hand is stretched out still.

13 12 And the people have not turned··back even··to Him who smote them, and of Jehovah of Armies they have not inquired.

14 13 And Jehovah shall cut··off from Israel the head and the tail, the palm branch and the pond··rush in one day.

15 14 The elder and they who lift up the face, he is the head; and the prophet who instructs falsely, he is the tail.

16 15 And the leaders of this people are causing them to go··astray; and they who are led by them shall be swallowed··up.*

17 16 Therefore the Lord shall not be··glad in their young··men, and on their orphans and their widows He shall have· no ·compassion; for every one of them is a hypocrite and an evil-doer, and every mouth speaks folly. For all this His anger is not turned··back, but His hand is stretched out still.

18 17 For wickedness burns as a fire; the briar and the thorn··bush it shall devour, and it shall kindle the thickets of the forest, and they shall mount··up in smoke rising··up.

19 18 Through the wrath of Jehovah of Armies the land is··darkened, and the people shall be as food for the fire; a man shall not pity his brother.

20 19 But he shall sever* on the right··hand, and be hungry; and he shall devour on the left, and not be satisfied; a man shall devour the flesh of his own arm:

21 20 Manasseh, Ephraim; and Ephraim, Manasseh; together these shall be against Judah. For all this His anger is not turned··back, but His hand is stretched out still.
