8073. 'As He swore to you and your fathers, and gives it to you' means which the Divine promised to those governed by goodness and truth. This is clear from what has been stated above in 8055, where similar words occur.

In Genesis 38:29-30, Phares and Zarah, twin sons of Judah, signify the separation of truth from good and assuming priority, although good is really prior. (Arcana Coelestia 4927-4928) They are also called Perez and Zerah.
