'Edom' or 'Idumea,' as in Isaiah 34:5, signifies people who are in evil and falsities derived there.
Hell followed
In Revelation 6:8, this signifies evil and falsity as well as eternal damnation, for people who enter hell remain there to eternity. (Apocalypse Explained 383)
