1 Još reče Gospod Mojsiju govoreći:

2 Reci sinovima Izrailjevim, i kaži im: Kad čovek ili žena učini zavet nazirejski, da bude nazirej Gospodu,

3 Neka se uzdržava od vina i silovitog pića, i neka ne pije octa vinskog ni octa od silovitog pića niti kakvog pića od grožđa i neka ne jede grožđa ni novog ni suvog.

4 Dokle god traje njegovo nazirejstvo neka ne jede ništa od vinove loze, ni zrna ni ljuske.

5 Dokle traje njegovo nazirejstvo, neka mu britva ne pređe preko glave; dokle se ne navrše dani za koje se učinio nazirej Gospodu, neka bude svet i neka ostavlja kosu na glavi svojoj.

6 Dokle traju dani za koje se učinio nazirej Gospodu, neka ne pristupa k mrtvacu.

7 Ni za ocem svojim ni za materom svojom ni za bratom svojim ni za sestrom svojom, neka se za njima ne skvrni kad umru; jer je nazirejstvo Boga njegovog na glavi njegovoj.

8 Dokle god traje nazirejstvo njegovo, svet je Gospodu.

9 Ako li bi ko umro do njega na prečac, te bi oskvrnio nazirejstvo glave njegove, neka obrije glavu svoju u dan čišćenja svog, sedmi dan neka je obrije.

10 A osmi dan neka donese dve grlice ili dva golubića svešteniku na vrata šatora od sastanka.

11 I sveštenik neka zgotovi od jednog žrtvu za greh a od drugog žrtvu paljenicu, i neka ga očisti od onog što je zgrešio kod mrtvaca; tako će posvetiti glavu njegovu u taj dan.

12 I neka odeli Gospodu dane nazirejstva svog, i donese jagnje od godine za krivicu; a pređašnji dani propadaju, jer mu se oskvrnilo nazirejstvo.

13 A ovo je zakon za nazireje: kad se navrše dani nazirejstva njegovog, neka dođe na vrata šatora od sastanka.

14 I neka donese za žrtvu Gospodu jagnje muško od godine zdravo za žrtvu paljenicu, i jagnje žensko od godine zdravo za greh, i ovna zdravog za žrtvu zahvalnu.

15 I kotaricu hlebova presnih, kolača od belog brašna zamešanih s uljem, i pogača presnih namazanih uljem, s darom njihovim i s nalivom njihovim.

16 A to će sveštenik prineti pred Gospodom i učiniti žrtvu za greh njegov i žrtvu njegovu paljenicu.

17 A ovna će prineti na žrtvu zahvalnu Gospodu s kotaricom presnih hlebova; prineće sveštenik i dar njegov i naliv njegov.

18 Tada nazirej neka obrije glavu svog nazirejstva na vratima šatora od sastanka; i uzevši kosu nazirejstva svog neka je metne u oganj koji je pod žrtvom zahvalnom.

19 I sveštenik neka uzme pleće kuvano od ovna i jedan kolač presan iz kotarice i jednu pogaču presnu, i neka metne na ruke nazireju, pošto obrije nazirejstvo svoje.

20 I sveštenik neka obrće te stvari na žrtvu obrtanu pred Gospodom; to je svetinja, koja pripada svešteniku osim grudi obrtanih i pleća podignutog; a posle toga nazirej može piti vino.

21 To je zakon za nazireja koji se zavetuje, i to je prinos njegov Gospodu za nazirejstvo njegovo, osim onog što bi više mogao učiniti; kakav mu bude zavet kojim se zavetuje, tako neka učini osim zakona svog nazirejstva.

22 Još reče Gospod Mojsiju govoreći:

23 Reci Aronu i sinovima njegovim i kaži: Ovako blagosiljajte sinove Izrailjeve govoreći im:

24 Da te blagoslovi Gospod i da te čuva!

25 Da te obasja Gospod licem svojim i bude ti milostiv!

26 Da Gospod obrati lice svoje k tebi i dade ti mir!

27 I neka prizivaju ime moje na sinove Izrailjeve, i ja ću ih blagosloviti.

870. That 'a dove' means the truths and goods of faith residing with a person who is to be regenerated is clear from the meaning of 'a dove' in the Word, especially from the dove that alighted on Jesus when He was baptized, as mentioned in Matthew,

When Jesus was baptized He went up immediately out of the water, and behold, the heavens were opened, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on Himself. Matthew 3:16-17; and in John 1:32, Luke 3:21-22; Mark 1:10-11.

Here 'a dove' meant nothing else than the holiness of faith, and the 'baptism' itself meant regeneration. It also meant therefore the truth and good of faith residing with the new Church that was to arise, which truth and good people receive through being regenerated by the Lord.

[2] Similar things were represented and embodied in the young doves or the turtle doves - mentioned in Leviticus 1:14-end; 5:7-10; 12:6; 14:21-22; 15:14-15, 29-30; Numbers 6:10-11; Luke 2:22-24 - which they used to offer as sacrifices and as burnt offerings in the Jewish Church, as becomes clear from each of the references just given. Anyone may grasp that they had such a meaning merely from the fact that they could not have been anything else than things of a representative nature. Otherwise they would be pointless, and in no sense Divine, for the external side of the Church is lifeless, but is made alive by the internal, as is the internal by the Lord.

[3] That 'a dove' in general means the intellectual concepts of faith is also clear in the Prophets, as in Hosea,

Ephraim will be like a stupid dove with no heart; they called Egypt, they went away to Assyria. Hosea 7:11.

In the same prophet, speaking of Ephraim,

They will tremble like a bird out of Egypt and a dove from the land of Assyria. Hosea 11:11.

Here 'Ephraim' stands for one who has intelligence, 'Egypt' for him who has knowledge, 'Assyria' for him who is rational, and 'a dove' stands for what belongs to the intellectual concepts of faith, the subject there being the regeneration of the spiritual Church. In David,

O Jehovah, deliver not the soul of [Your] turtle dove to the wild animal. Psalms 74:19.

'Wild animal' stands for people without any charity, 'the soul of a turtle dove' for the life of faith. See what has been stated and shown already in 40, 776, about birds meaning intellectual things. Harmless, beautiful, clean, and useful birds in particular mean intellectual truths and goods; but harmful, ugly, unclean, and useless ones, such as the raven, which is here used as the opposite of the dove, mean their opposites, namely falsities.
