Thus says Jehovah; Behold, waters go··up from the north, and shall be an overflowing of◦ the brook, and they shall overflow the land, and her fullness; the city, and those who dwell in her; and mankind shall cry, and everyone that dwells··in the land shall howl.

From the voice of the stamping◦ of the hoofs of his steeds, from the quaking of his chariots, and from the noise of his rolling wheels, the fathers shall not turn· their ·faces to▵ their sons from slackness of hands;

on··account··of the day that comes to devastate all the Philistines, and to cut··off from Tyre and from Zidon every surviving helper; for Jehovah will devastate the Philistines, those who··are··left of the island of Caphtor.

Baldness has come upon Gaza; Ashkelon is cut··off◦ with what··is··left of their valley; until when wilt thou gash thyself?

Woe, the sword of◦ Jehovah! How▵ long◦ wilt thou be· not ·quiet? Be gathered into thy sheath, repose and be··still.

How art thou quiet? For Jehovah has commanded it to▵ Ashkelon, and to the coast of the sea; there has He appointed* it.
