1
All the commandments which I▵ command thee today you shall take··heed to do, so··that you may live, and multiply, and go··in and possess the land which Jehovah promised to your fathers.

And thou shalt remember all of the way in which Jehovah thy God led* thee these forty years in the wilderness, in··order··to afflict thee, and to tempt thee, to know what was in thy heart, whether thou wouldest keep His commandments, or not.

And He afflicted thee, and caused thee to hunger, and caused thee to eat the manna, which thou knewest not, and thy fathers knew not; so··that He might make thee to know that man does not live on bread alone, but on all that goes··out of the mouth of Jehovah does man live.

Thy raiment did not wear··out upon thee, neither did thy foot swell, these forty years.

Thou shalt also know in thy heart, that, as a man◦ chastens his son, so Jehovah thy God chastens thee.

And thou shalt keep the commandments of Jehovah thy God, to walk◦ in His ways, and to fear Him.
7
For Jehovah thy God brings thee to a good land, a land of brooks of waters, of founts and abysses that come··forth in vales and in mountains;
8
a land of wheat, and barley, and vine, and fig, and pomegranate; a land of olive of oil, and of honey;
9
a land in which thou shalt eat bread in her and not with storehouses, thou shalt not have··want of any thing in her; a land whose stones are iron, and from her mountains thou mayest hew··out copper.
10
When thou hast eaten and art satisfied, then thou shalt bless Jehovah thy God for the good land which He has given thee.

Take··heed for thyself lest thou forget Jehovah thy God, in not▵ keeping His commandments, and His judgments, and His statutes, which I▵ command thee today;
12
lest thou eat and be satisfied, and build good houses, and dwell in them,
13
and thy herd and thy flock multiply, and thy silver and thy gold multiply, and all that thou hast◦ multiply,
14
and thy heart be lifted··up◦, and thou forget Jehovah thy God, who brought· thee ·out from the land of Egypt, from the house of servants;
15
who led* thee through the great and fearful wilderness of the serpent, the saraph*, and the scorpion, and thirsty··ground in which there was no water; who brought··forth for thee water from the rock of flint;
16
who caused thee to eat manna in the wilderness, which thy fathers knew not, so··that He might afflict thee, and so··that He might tempt thee, to do· thee ·good in thy later time;
17
and thou say in thy heart, My power and the fortitude* of my hand has made for me these belongings.
18
But thou shalt remember Jehovah thy God; for it is He◦ Who gives thee power to make such belongings, so··that He may raise··up His covenant which He promised to thy fathers, as it is this day.
19
And it shall be, if forgetting thou forgettest Jehovah thy God, and walk after other gods, and serve them, and worship them, I testify against you today that perishing you shall perish.
20
As the nations that Jehovah causes to perish from before you, so shall you perish; because▵ you would not obey the voice of Jehovah your God.
