Hosea 10

Studie

   

1 Ο Ισραηλ ειναι αμπελος ευκληματουσα· εκαρποφορησεν αφθονως· κατα το πληθος των καρπων αυτου επληθυνε τα θυσιαστηρια· κατα την αγαθοτητα της γης αυτου ελαμπρυνε τα αγαλματα.

2 Η καρδια αυτων ειναι μεμερισμενη· τωρα θελουσι τιμωρηθη· αυτος θελει κατασκαψει τα θυσιαστηρια αυτων, θελει φθειρει τα αγαλματα αυτων.

3 Διοτι τωρα θελουσιν ειπει, Ημεις δεν εχομεν βασιλεα, διοτι δεν εφοβηθημεν τον Κυριον· και ο βασιλευς τι ηθελε μας καμει;

4 Ελαλησαν λογους, ομνυοντες ψευδως, ενω εκαμνον συνθηκην· οθεν η καταδικη θελει εκβλαστησει ως το κωνειον εν ταις αυλαξι του αγρου.

5 Οι κατοικοι της Σαμαρειας θελουσι κατατρομαξει δια τον μοσχον της Βαιθ-αυεν· διοτι ο λαος αυτου θελει πενθησει δι' αυτον και οι ειδωλοθυται αυτου, οι χαιροντες εις αυτον, δια την δοξαν αυτου, διοτι μετωκισθη απ' αυτου.

6 Αυτος οτι θελει φερθη εις την Ασσυριαν, δωρον προς τον βασιλεα Ιαρειβ· αισχυνη θελει καταλαβει τον Εφραιμ, και ο Ισραηλ θελει εντραπη δια την βουλην αυτου.

7 Αφανιζεται η Σαμαρεια και ο βασιλευς αυτης ως αφρος επι προσωπον υδατος.

8 Και οι βωμοι της Αυεν, η αμαρτια του Ισραηλ, θελουσι καταστραφη· ακανθαι και τριβολοι θελουσι βλαστησει επι τα θυσιαστηρια αυτων· και θελουσιν ειπει προς τα ορη, Καλυψατε μας· και προς τους λοφους, Πεσατε εφ' ημας.

9 Ισραηλ, ημαρτησας απο των ημερων της Γαβαα· εκει εσταθησαν· η εν Γαβαα κατα των υιων της ανομιας μαχη δεν εφθασεν εις αυτους.

10 Κατα την βουλην μου βεβαιως θελω παιδευσει αυτους· και οι λαοι θελουσι συναχθη εναντιον αυτων, οταν φερωνται εις αιχμαλωσιαν δια τας δυο ανομιας αυτων.

11 Ο Εφραιμ ειναι μεν δαμαλις δεδιδαγμενη και αγαπωσα να αλωνιζη· πλην εγω θελω περασει ζυγον επι τον ωραιον αυτης τραχηλον· θελω υποζευξει τον Εφραιμ· ο Ιουδας θελει αροτρια, ο Ιακωβ θελει βωλοκοπει εις εαυτον.

12 Σπειρατε δι' εαυτους εν δικαιοσυνη, θερισατε εν ελεει· ανοιξατε την αφειμενην σας γην· διοτι ειναι καιρος να εκζητησητε τον Κυριον, εωσου ελθη και επισταλαξη δικαιοσυνην εφ' υμας.

13 Ηροτριασατε ασεβειαν, εθερισατε ανομιαν, εφαγετε καρπον ψευδους· διοτι ηλπισας εις την οδον σου, εις το πληθος των ισχυρων σου.

14 Δια τουτο απωλεια θελει εγερθη μεταξυ των λαων σου, και παντα τα φρουρια σου θελουσιν εκπορθηθη, καθως ο Σαλμαν εξεπορθησε την Βαιθ-αρβελ εν τη ημερα της μαχης· η μητηρ κατεσυντριβη επι τα τεκνα.

15 Ουτω θελει καμει εις εσας η Βαιθηλ ενεκεν της εσχατης ανομιας σας· πρωι θελει αφανισθη ολοτελως ο βασιλευς του Ισραηλ.

530. As has been stated, the names used in this chapter mean Churches, or what amounts to the same, doctrinal systems, for it is by virtue of its doctrine that a Church exists and takes its name. Thus Noah means the Ancient Church, or the doctrine that remained from the Most Ancient Church. The situation with Churches or doctrines has been stated already, namely that they dwindle away until nothing remains any longer of the goods and truths of faith. And when that point has been reached, the Church is in the Word called vastated. Nevertheless a remnant is always preserved, that is, some people are preserved, no matter how few, with whom the good and truth of faith persist. And unless that good and truth of faith were preserved with those people there would be no conjunction of heaven with the human race.

[2] As regards the remnants that reside with the individual, the fewer they are the less possible it is for the rational concepts and the factual knowledge he possesses to receive light; for the light of good and truth flows in from the remnants, or rather from the Lord by way of the remnants. If there were no remnants residing with a person, he would not be a human being, but someone far inferior to any animal. The fewer the remnants, the less he is a human being, while the more they are, the more he is a human being. Remnants are like a star in the sky; the smaller it is the weaker the light coming from it, but the greater it is, the brighter the light coming from it. The few things that did remain from the Most Ancient Church resided with those who constituted the Church called Noah. Those things were not however the remains of perception but of integrity, and also of doctrine deriving from the things of the Most Ancient Churches that were matters of perception. At that point therefore a new Church was raised up by the Lord. Being entirely different in disposition from the Most Ancient Churches, it is to be referred to as the Ancient Church, ancient from the fact that it existed at the last stage before the Flood and in the first period of time after it. This Church will in the Lord's Divine mercy be dealt with later on.
