1 猶大西底家第九年十,巴比倫尼布甲尼撒率領全軍圍困耶路撒冷

2 西底家十一年日,城被攻破。

3 耶路撒冷被攻取的時候,巴比倫的首領尼甲•沙利薛、三甲•尼波、撒西金─拉撒力、尼甲•沙利薛─拉墨,並巴比倫其餘的一切首領都在中

4 猶大西底家和一切兵丁見他們,就在夜間從靠近園兩城中間的出城逃跑,往亞拉巴逃去。

5 迦勒底軍隊追趕他們,在耶利哥的平原追上西底家,將他拿住,帶到哈馬地的利比拉、巴比倫尼布甲尼撒那裡;尼布甲尼撒就審判他。

6 巴比倫在利比拉、西底家眼前殺了他的眾子,又殺了猶大的一切貴冑,

7 並且剜西底家的眼睛,用銅鍊鎖著他,要帶到巴比倫去。

8 迦勒底人焚燒宮和百姓的房,又拆毀耶路撒冷城牆

9 那時,護衛長尼布撒拉旦將城裡所剩下的百姓和投降他的逃民,以及其餘的民都擄到巴比倫去了。

10 護衛長尼布撒拉旦卻將民中毫無所有的窮人留在猶大地,當時他們葡萄園和田地。

11 巴比倫尼布甲尼撒提到耶利米,囑咐護衛長尼布撒拉旦說:

12 你領他去,好好地看待他,切不可害他;他對你怎麼,你就向他怎麼行。

13 護衛長尼布撒拉旦和尼布沙斯班─拉撒力、尼甲•沙利薛─拉墨,並巴比倫的一切長,

14 打發人去,將耶利米從護衛兵院中提出來,交與沙番的孫子亞希甘的兒子基大利,帶回家去。於是耶利米在民中。

15 耶利米還囚在護衛兵院中的時候,耶和華的話臨到他說:

16 你去告訴古實人以伯•米勒,萬軍之耶和華以色列的如此:我降禍不降福的話必臨到這城,到那時必在你面前成就了。

17 耶和華:到那日我必拯救你,你必不致交在你所怕的人中。

18 我定要搭你,你不致倒在刀下,卻要以自己的命為掠物,因你倚靠我。這是耶和華的。
