6303. En God zal met ulieden zijn; dat dit de Goddelijke Voorzienigheid van de Heer betekent, staat vast uit de betekenis van God zal met ulieden zijn, namelijk de Goddelijke Voorzienigheid van de Heer, want wanneer de Heer met iemand is, dan leidt Hij hem en voorziet Hij daarin dat alle dingen die gebeuren, hetzij droevig, hetzij vreugdevol, voor hem ten goede uitvallen; dit is de Goddelijke Voorzienigheid. Dat er wordt gezegd de Voorzienigheid van de Heer, komt omdat er wordt gezegd God met ulieden en onder God en onder Jehovah wordt in het Woord de Heer verstaan; er is immers geen andere God behalve Hijzelf; Hijzelf is immers de Vader en Hijzelf is de Zoon, want Zij zijn één; de Vader is in Hem en Hij is in de Vader, zoals Hijzelf leert bij, (Johannes 14:9-11);

8241. 'In Jehovah and in Moses His servant' means the Lord in respect of Divine Goodness, and in respect of Divine Truth going forth from Him and ministering. This is clear from the consideration that in the Word 'Jehovah' is used to mean the Lord, see 1343, 1736, 2921, 3023, 3035, 5663, 6281, 6303, 6945, 6956, and in particular the Lord in respect of Divine Goodness, 2586, 2769, 2807, 2822, 4402, 6905; from the representation of 'Moses' as Divine Truth going forth from Him, dealt with in 6752, 7010, 7014, 7089, 7382 (the expression 'the Lord in respect of Divine Goodness and in respect of Divine Truth' is used because Divine Goodness exists within the Lord and Divine Truth goes forth from the Lord, for the situation with Divine Goodness and Divine Truth is like that with the fire of the sun and the light radiating from it; the light is not within the sun but comes forth from the sun); and from the meaning of 'servant' as ministering. The word 'servant' is used to describe one who serves, that is, who ministers, see 7143. This is why the Lord in respect of His Divine Human when He was in the world is called 'a servant' in the Word, 3441; for during that time He ministered, as also He Himself says,

Whoever has the wish to become great among you must be your minister, and whoever has the wish to become first must be your servant, even as the Son of Man came not to be ministered to but to minister.

Matthew 20:26-28; Luke 22:26-27; Mark 10:43-45.

2769. 'And He said to him, Abraham' means the Lord's perception from Divine Truth. This is clear from the meaning of 'saying' - in the historical parts of the Word - as perceiving, dealt with in 1898, 1919, 2080, 2619, and from the representation of 'Abraham' as the Lord. This perception sprang from Divine Truth, as may be seen from the consideration that the name GOD is used, not JEHOVAH. For in the Word when truth is the subject the name God occurs, but when good is the subject the name Jehovah, see 2586. This explains why the name God is used in the present verse and in those that follow as far as verse 11, in that temptation is the subject in those verses, and why Jehovah is used in verse 11 and those that follow, in that deliverance is the subject in these verses. For it is from truth that all temptation and condemnation come about, but from good that all deliverance and salvation are effected. Truth condemns but good saves, see 1685, 2258, 2335.
