41. We can see that the Lord is called Lord and God from many passages, so many that to cite them all would fill pages. These few may suffice. In John:

When Thomas at the Lord’s bidding looked at his hands and touched his side, he said, “My Lord and my God.” (John 20:27-28)

In David,

They remembered that God was their Rock, and God on High their Redeemer. (Psalms 78:35)

And in Isaiah,

Jehovah Sabaoth is his name, and your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel. He will be called the God of the whole earth. (Isaiah 54:5)

We can see this also from the fact that they worshiped him and fell on their faces before him-Matthew 9:18; 14:33; 15:25; 28:9; Mark 1:40; 5:22; 7:25; 10:17; Luke 17:15-16; John 9:38. And in David,

We heard of him in Ephrata; let us enter his dwelling and bow down at the stool for his feet. (Psalms 132:6-7)

It is much the same in heaven, as described in the Book of Revelation:

I was in the spirit; and behold, a throne set in heaven, and one sat on the throne. He was like a jasper and a sardius stone, and there was a rainbow around the throne, in appearance like an emerald. And the twenty-four elders fell down before the one who sits on the throne and worshiped the one who lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne. (Revelation 4:2-3, 10)

And again,

I saw in the right hand of the one who sat on the throne a scroll, written inside and on the back, sealed with seven seals. And no one was able to open the scroll. Then one of the elders said, “Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals.” And I saw in the midst of the throne a Lamb standing. He came and took the scroll, and [the twenty-four elders] fell down before the Lamb and worshiped the one who lives forever and ever. (Revelation 5:1, 3, 5-8, 14)

The Lord, in the simplest terms, is love itself expressed as wisdom itself. In philosophic terms, love is the Lord's substance and wisdom is His form. Of course, we feel the Lord's love and hear His wisdom in many different ways, depending on our state in life and how receptive we are. That's why the Lord has so many different names in the Bible, and is referred to in so many different ways.
