1 Und Jehova redete zu Mose und sprach:

2 Siehe, ich habe Bezaleel, den Sohn Uris, des Sohnes Hurs, vom Stamme Juda, mit Namen berufen

3 und habe ihn mit dem Geiste Gottes erfüllt, in Weisheit und in Verstand und in Kenntnis und in jeglichem Werk;

4 um Künstliches zu ersinnen, zu arbeiten in Gold und in Silber und in Erz,

5 und im Schneiden von Steinen zum Einsetzen und im Holzschneiden, um zu arbeiten in jeglichem Werk.

6 Und ich, siehe, ich habe ihm Oholiab, den Sohn Achisamaks, vom Stamme Dan, beigegeben; und in das Herz eines jeden, der weisen Herzens ist, habe ich Weisheit gelegt, daß sie alles machen, was ich dir geboten habe:

7 das Zelt der Zusammenkunft und die Lade des Zeugnisses und den Deckel, der darauf ist, und alle Geräte des Zeltes;

8 und den Tisch und alle seine Geräte und den reinen Leuchter und alle seine Geräte und den äucheraltar

9 und den Brandopferaltar und alle seine Geräte, und das Becken und sein Gestell;

10 und die Dienstkleider (And.: die gestickten Kleider) und die heiligen Kleider für Aaron, den Priester, und die Kleider seiner Söhne, um den Priesterdienst auszuüben;

11 und das Salböl und das wohlriechende äucherwerk für das Heiligtum: nach allem, was ich dir geboten habe, sollen sie es machen.

12 Und Jehova redete zu Mose und sprach:

13 Und du, rede zu den Kindern Israel und sprich: Fürwahr, meine Sabbathe sollt ihr beobachten; denn sie sind (W. er ist) ein Zeichen zwischen mir und euch bei euren Geschlechtern, damit ihr wisset, daß ich, Jehova, es bin, (O. daß ich Jehova bin) der euch heiligt;

14 und beobachtet den Sabbath, denn heilig ist er euch; wer ihn entweiht, soll gewißlich getötet werden; denn wer irgend an ihm eine Arbeit tut, selbige Seele soll ausgerottet werden aus der Mitte ihrer Völker.

15 Sechs Tage soll man Arbeit tun, aber am siebten Tage ist der Sabbath der uhe, heilig dem Jehova; wer irgend am Tage des Sabbaths eine Arbeit tut, soll gewißlich getötet werden.

16 Und die Kinder Israel sollen den Sabbath beobachten, um den Sabbath zu feiern bei ihren Geschlechtern: ein ewiger Bund.

17 Er ist ein Zeichen zwischen mir und den Kindern Israel ewiglich; denn in sechs Tagen hat Jehova den Himmel und die Erde gemacht, und am siebten Tage hat er geruht und sich erquickt.

18 Und er gab dem Mose, als er auf dem Berge Sinai mit ihm ausgeredet hatte, die zwei Tafeln des Zeugnisses, Tafeln von Stein, beschrieben mit dem Finger Gottes.

10375. 'And He gave to Moses, when He had finished talking to him from Mount Sinai, the two tablets of the Testimony' means a joining of the Lord to a person by means of the Word. This is clear from the representation of 'Moses' as the Word, dealt with in the places referred to in 9372; from the meaning of 'when He had finished talking to him' as after all things had been instituted, for what Jehovah talked about to Moses on Mount Sinai was the things to be instituted among the children of Israel, thus things of the Church; from the meaning of 'Mount Sinai' as heaven, where Divine Truth comes from, dealt with in 8805, 9420; from the meaning of 'the two tablets' as the law in its entirety, thus the Word, dealt with in 9416; and from the meaning of 'the Testimony' as the Lord in respect of Divine Truth, dealt with in 8535, 9503. The joining to a person by means of the Word is meant by the fact that the tablets were two in number and were joined together as if by a covenant, see 9416. 'Two' furthermore means a joining together, 5194, 8423. From all this it is evident that 'Jehovah gave to Moses, when He had finished talking to him from Mount Sinai, the two tablets of the Testimony' means that after the Church has been established a joining of the Lord to a person is accomplished by means of the Word sent down from Him out of heaven.

The Word is the means by which the Lord flows in with a person, talks to him, and is joined to him, see 1775, 2310, 2899, 3476, 3735, 3982(end), 4217, 9212(end), 9216(end), 9357, 9380, 9396, 9400, 9401, 10290.

3735. 'And clothing to wear' means being joined to Divine Truth. This is clear from the meaning of 'clothing' as truth, dealt with in 1073, 2576, Divine Truth here since the Lord is the subject; and from the meaning of 'wearing' as making it one's own and being joined to it. As for the nature of the internal sense of the Word, that becomes clear from these and all other details; that is to say, when the sense of the letter refers to bread and to clothing, and also when it does so within historical narrative, as here in 'If God will give me bread to eat and clothing to wear', the angels present with a person at the time have no thought at all of bread but of the good of love, and in the highest sense, of the Lord's Divine Good. Nor do they have any thought at all of clothing but of truth, and in the highest sense, of the Lord's Divine Truth. To them such things as are referred to in the sense of the letter are simply objects for thought regarding heavenly and Divine matters, for such things are vessels existing in the ultimate degree of order.

[2] So when with holiness of mind a person thinks about bread - for example, when he thinks about the bread in the Holy Supper, or about the daily bread in the Lord's Prayer - that thought which he has about bread serves the angels present with him as an object for thought regarding the good of love which comes from the Lord. For the angels do not take hold of anything at all of the person's actual thought concerning bread, but instead their thought concerns good; for such is the correspondence between the two. It is similar when with holiness of mind a person thinks about clothing. The angels' thought in that case concerns truth. So it is with everything else in the Word. From this the nature of the joining together of heaven and earth by means of the Word becomes clear; that is to say, the joining together is such that when with holiness of mind anyone reads the Word he is joined by means of such correspondences more closely to heaven, and through heaven to the Lord, even though that person's thought is concerned solely with things in the Word which are stated in the sense of the letter. His holiness of mind at that time is the product of the influx of celestial and spiritual thoughts and affections such as exist with angels.

[3] So that such influx might exist and from that influx man might be joined to the Lord, the Lord has instituted the Holy Supper where it is explicitly stated that the Lord is the bread and wine. For the Lord's body means His Divine love, and the reciprocal love in man, love such as exists with celestial angels, while His blood in a similar way means His Divine love, and the reciprocal love in man, but love such as exists with spiritual angels. From this it is evident how much of the Divine there is within every individual part of the Word, though man does not know what that Divine content is or the nature of it. People however who, while in the world, have led a good life enter after death into cognitions and a perception of all those things, for at that time they cast off earthly and worldly things and take to themselves heavenly ones, and have, like angels, spiritual and celestial ideas.
