5760. 'And we also will be slaves to my lord' means that they will be adjuncts forever, without freedom of their own. This is clear from the meaning of 'we also' as adjuncts, and from the meaning of 'being slaves' as being without freedom of their own. For one who is a slave has no freedom of his own; he is subject to his master's personal freedom. What having no freedom of one's own implies will in the Lord's Divine mercy be stated further on.
