καὶ υἱοὶ γαμερ ασχαναζ καὶ ριφαθ καὶ θοργαμα
1221. 'He was the father of all the sons of Eber' means that this second Ancient Church and what belonged to it arose from the previous Ancient Church as its father. This likewise will be clear from what follows below regarding Eber and this Church, for Eber forms the subject in verses 24-30 of the present chapter, and from verse 11 to the end of the next.

Arpachshad became the father of Shelah. Shelah became the father of Eber.

To Eber were born two sons. The name of the one was Peleg, for in his days the earth was divided. His brother's name was Joktan.

Joktan became the father of Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah,

Ophir, Havilah, and Jobab. All these were the sons of Joktan.

Their dwelling was from Mesha, as you go toward Sephar, the mountain of the east.
