3083. 'And filled her pitcher' means vessels for receiving. This is clear from the meaning of 'a pitcher' in the internal sense, since it is a vessel able to receive water, as a recipient of cognitions of truth, also of truth itself, which are meant by 'water'. 'The waters issuing out of the sanctuary,' as in Ezekiel 47:12, signify the life and mercy of the Lord, who is the sanctuary.
