2387. That 'the men said to Lot' means that the Lord warns those with whom the good of charity is present is clear from the meaning of 'the men' as the Lord, dealt with in 2378, from the meaning of 'saying' as warning, and from the representation of 'Lot' as those with whom the good of charity is present, dealt with in 2324, 2351, 2371. The words 'the men said to Lot' therefore mean that the Lord warns those with whom the good of charity is present.
