In Matthew. 2:1, 11, they signify all things of the good of love and faith in the Lord: Gold, realities of the love of good, frankincense, of the love of truth, or the good of faith; myrrh, those of both in external or sensuous things. (Arcana Coelestia 9293[2]) Also, myrrh signifies natural good, frankincense, spiritual good; and gold celestial good. (Doctrine Regarding Sacred Scripture 23[3])
