35 For as I have spoken, so will I do to all this wicked multitude, that hath risen up together against me: in this wilderness shall it faint away and die.

Verse 35. And this arises from the unchangeable character of Divine Good and of Divine Truth thence, evil being the opposite of good, and falsity the opposite of truth, so that the wicked are consumed by their own falsities, and are overwhelmed by their own evils.
