⁸ And it was, when^◦ Jeremiah^◦ had completed speaking all that Jehovah had commanded him to speak to^▵ all the people, that the priests and the prophets and all the people caught·​·hold of him, saying, Dying thou shalt die.

²³ For the reason^* that you have burned·​·incense, and that you have sinned against Jehovah, and have not obeyed the voice of Jehovah, nor^◦ walked in His law, nor^◦ in His statutes, nor^◦ in His testimonies; therefore this evil has befallen you, as at this day.
