That this signifies that they would still endeavor to subjugate them, is evident from the signification of “following after them,” as being to endeavor to subjugate; for the intention of their pursuit was to reduce them into a state of servitude, and by “making to serve,” when said of the Egyptians, is signified the intention to subjugate (n. 6666, 6670, 6671).
