Und die Söhne Josephs, die ihm in Ägypten geboren wurden, waren zwei Seelen. Aller Seelen des Hauses Jakob, die nach Ägypten kamen, waren siebzig. 4285. 'And he said to him, What is your name? And he said, Jacob' means the essential nature of good done from truth. This is clear from the meaning of 'name' as the essential nature, dealt with in 144, 145, 1754, 1896, 2009, 2724, 3006, and from the representation of 'Jacob' as the good of truth, dealt with above in 4273.
