18 ινα μη διδαξωσιν υμας ποιειν παντα τα βδελυγματα αυτων οσα εποιησαν τοις θεοις αυτων και αμαρτησεσθε εναντιον κυριου του θεου υμων

Verse 18. That they seduce not the soul to pervert all the good and truth it has received by prostituting them to the service of selfish and worldly loves, which is the tendency of all these interior evils and falsities; for thus the soul would be averted from all Divine Goodness and Wisdom.
