Verse 56. The affection of charity that was esteemed tender and pure in the soul, that seemed as though it had nothing in contact with carnal things on account of its sanctity and purity, shall be so blinded as to hate the principles of truth and good that were its guide and counsellor, and the holy affections and thoughts that were once produced from it,
