2 These [are] births of Jacob: Joseph, a son of seventeen years, hath been enjoying himself with his brethren among the flock, (and he [is] a youth,) with the sons of Bilhah, and with the sons of Zilpah, his father's wives, and Joseph bringeth in an account of their evil unto their father.

4773. 'And said, We have found this' means that this is what they see it to be. This is clear from the train of thought in the internal sense, for the brothers did not say that it was Joseph's tunic, only that they had 'found this' - leaving it to their father to recognize whether it was his son's tunic. Consequently these words mean that this is what they see it to be.
