Je běžné říkat „vidím“, když něčemu rozumíme. „Vidění“ v Bibli skutečně znamená uchopení a pochopení duchovních věcí. Dává tedy smysl, že oči, které nám umožňují vidět, představují intelekt, který nám umožňuje porozumět duchovním věcem.

To lze samozřejmě použít i negativně; Bible hovoří o tom, že lidé mají oči a odmítají vidět, a Pán, když byl na světě, doporučil vytáhnout urážlivé oko. Představují odmítnutí uznat pravdu nebo být zaváděni falešností.

Nor can there be any doubt that when He was a boy, the Lord as regards His external Man frequently had such Divine vision, for He alone was to join the external Man to the internal Man. The External Man was His Human Essence, while the Internal Man was His Divine Essence.
