Explanation of Leviticus 23:18

Од стране Henry MacLagan

Verse 18. And now, therefore, the Lord is acknowledged from the operation of inmost good celestial, involving a holy state of innocence in fullness and free from falsity, and also the good of innocence in the external and internal man by co-operation and conjunction with the Lord, and thus full sanctification by that conjunction, both as to good and truth, and as to exterior truth and good, all acknowledged to be from the Lord through his pure love for man, and resulting in a further state of rest and peace.

17 But we will certainly perform every word that is gone forth out of our mouth, to burn incense to the queen of the sky, and to pour out drink offerings to her, as we have done, we and our fathers, our kings and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem; for then had we plenty of food, and were well, and saw no evil.

18 But since we left off burning incense to the queen of the sky, and pouring out drink offerings to her, we have wanted all things, and have been consumed by the sword and by the famine.

19 When we burned incense to the queen of the sky, and poured out drink offerings to her, did we make her cakes to worship her, and pour out drink offerings to her, without our husbands?
