A garden, grove and wood signify respectively wisdom, intelligence and knowledge. Different kinds of trees have a range of meanings, too: olive, vine, cedar, poplar and oak mean the good and truth of the church in their celestial, spiritual, rational, natural and sensual forms. In Arcana Coelestia 2722, we find this description: "Groves have various significations according the particular kinds of trees growing in them. The 'groves where olives grew,' signifies the celestial things of worship. The 'groves where vines grew,' signifies the spiritual things of those celestial things of worship. But the groves consisting of fig-trees, cedars, firs, poplars oaks, signify various things pertaining celestial spiritual things.
