22 וַיֹּאמֶר לֹא תַכֶּה הַאֲשֶׁר שָׁבִיתָ בְּחַרְבְּךָ וּבְקַשְׁתְּךָ אַתָּה מַכֶּה שִׂים לֶחֶם וָמַיִם לִפְנֵיהֶם וְיֹאכְלוּ וְיִשְׁתּוּ וְיֵלְכוּ אֶל־אֲדֹנֵיהֶם׃

Verse 22. Whereas this is contrary to Divine Truth; for even the corrupted man represses his lower passions by means of natural truths and the force of reason, when it suits him; nor does he destroy them. And hence Divine Truth further teaches, that the natural powers are to be nourished with good and truth in order that they may be serviceable to the higher life.
