44 For jeg er Herren eders Gud, og I skal hellige eder, og I skal være hellige, for jeg er hellig; I skal ikke gjøre eder selv urene ved noget av det kryp som rører sig på jorden.

Verse 44. For the Lord is good itself and truth itself united; and therefore man should be holy by the conjunction of these in himself, since the Lord is holiness itself by that union; neither should the spiritual man defile himself with any sensual affection separated from the higher life.
