12 This was the word of the Lord, which he spoke to Jehu, saying: Thy children to the fourth generation shall sit upon the throne of Israel. And so it came to pass.

Verse 12. For it is according to Divine Order concerning the church, that Divine Truth, in successive accommodated forms, should govern it even to its consummation. And this is invariably the case.
