8 The door for the middle side rooms was in the right side of the house: and they went up by winding stairs into the middle [story], and out of the middle into the third.

Verse 8. And the entrance to a higher degree of life is by faith conjoined with charity, the ascent from the lower degree to the middle and from the middle to the highest being made by means of the truths of the Word expressed in the actions of the life and united with love.
