Verse 9. And hence there is perception in the spiritual church concerning this antagonism, that the corrupted sensual life of the imperfect man aspires to conjoin itself with the affection of spiritual truth, but that, in the meantime self-love, aspiring to dominion in the church, forcibly represses the merely sensual life.
