¹ And Jehovah said to^▵ Moses, Now shalt thou see what I will do to Pharaoh; for by a firm hand shall he send· them ·away, and by a firm hand shall he drive· them ·out of his land.

² And God spoke to Moses, and said to him, I am Jehovah.

³ And was seen by Abraham, by Isaac, and by Jacob, in God Shaddai; and by my name Jehovah I was· not ·known to them^*.

⁴ And I also raised·​·up My covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their sojournings, in which they sojourned.

⁵ And I have also heard the groaning of the sons of Israel, whom the Egyptians make to serve; and I have remembered My covenant.

⁶ Therefore say to the sons of Israel, I^◦ am Jehovah, and I will cause you to go·​·out from under the burdens^◦ of the Egyptians, and I will rescue you from their servitude; and I will redeem you with a stretched·​·out arm, and with great judgments.

⁷ And I will take you to Me for a people, and I will be to you for God, and you shall·​·know that I am Jehovah your God, who leads you out from under the burdens^◦ of Egypt.

⁸ And I will bring you to the land where I lifted up my hand to give it to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, and I will give it to you for a possession; I am Jehovah.

⁹ And Moses spoke thus to the sons of Israel; and they heard not Moses for distress of spirit, and for hard service.

¹⁰ And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

¹¹ Come, speak to Pharaoh king of Egypt, and let him send the sons of Israel out of his land.

¹² And Moses spoke before Jehovah, saying, Behold the sons of Israel have not hearkened to^▵ me; and how^◦ shall Pharaoh hearken to^▵ me, and I^◦ uncircumcised of lips?

¹³ And Jehovah spoke to Moses and to Aaron, and gave them a command to the sons of Israel, and to Pharaoh king of Egypt, to lead out the sons of Israel out of the land of Egypt.

¹⁴ These are the heads of their fathers’ houses: the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel; Enoch and Pallu, Chezron and Carmi; these are the families of Reuben.

¹⁵ And the sons of Simeon; Jemuel, and Jamin, and Ohad, and Jachin, and Zohar, and Shaul the son of a Canaanitish woman; these are the families of Simeon.

¹⁶ And these are the names of the sons of Levi according to their births; Gershon, and Kohath, and Merari; and the years of the life of Levi were seven and thirty and a hundred years.

¹⁷ The sons of Gershon; Libni and Shimei, according to their families.

¹⁸ And the sons of Kohath; Amram, and Izehar, and Hebron, and Uzziel; and the years of the life of Kohath were three and thirty and a hundred years.

¹⁹ And the sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. These are the families of Levi according to their births.

²⁰ And Amram took Jochebed his aunt to him for a woman; and she gave·​·birth for him to Aaron and Moses; and the years of the life of Amram were seven and thirty and a hundred years.

²¹ And the sons of Izehar: Korah and Nepheg, and Zichri.

²² And the sons of Uzziel: Mishael and Elzaphan, and Sithri.

²³ And Aaron took him Elisheba, the daughter of Aminadab, the sister of Nahshon, for a woman; and for him she gave·​·birth to Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.

²⁴ And the sons of Korah: Assir and Elkanah, and Abiasaph; these are the families of the Korahites.

²⁵ And Eleazar the son of Aaron took to himself from the daughters of Putiel to himself for a woman; and for him she gave·​·birth to Phinehas. These are the heads of the fathers of the Levites for their families.

²⁶ This^◦ is the Aaron and Moses to whom Jehovah said, bring·​·out the sons of Israel from the land of Egypt according to their armies.

²⁷ These are those who spoke to Pharaoh king of Egypt, to lead out the sons of Israel from the land of Egypt. This is the Moses and Aaron.

²⁸ And it was, in the day that Jehovah spoke to Moses in the land of Egypt,

²⁹ and Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying, I am Jehovah; speak thou to Pharaoh king of Egypt all that I speak to thee.

³⁰ And Moses said before Jehovah, Behold I am uncircumcised in lips, and how^◦ shall Pharaoh hear me?

¹ And this is the commandment, the statutes, and the judgments, which Jehovah your God commanded to teach you, for you to do them in the land whither you cross·​·over to possess it;

² that thou mightest fear Jehovah thy God, to keep all His statutes and His commandments, which I^▵ command thee, thou^◦, and thy son, and thy son’s son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged.

³ And hear, O Israel, and observe to do, that it may be·​·well for thee, and that you may multiply exceedingly, as Jehovah God of thy fathers has spoken to thee, in the land that flows with milk and honey.

⁴ Hear, O Israel; Jehovah is our God; Jehovah is one.

⁵ And thou shalt love Jehovah thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy forces^◦.

⁶ And these words, which I command thee today, shall be upon thy heart;

⁷ and thou shalt teach them diligently^* to thy sons, and shalt speak of them when thou sittest in thy house, and when thou walkest^◦ in the way, and when thou liest·​·down, and when thou risest·​·up.

⁸ And thou shalt tie them for a sign upon thy hand, and they shall be for frontlets between thine eyes.

⁹ And thou shalt write them on the doorposts of thy house, and on^◦ thy gates.

¹⁰ And it shall be, when Jehovah thy God shall have brought thee into the land which He promised to thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give thee great and good cities, which thou buildedst not,

¹¹ and houses full of every good, which thou didst not fill, and cisterns hewed·​·out, which thou hewedst· not ·out, vineyards and olive·​·trees, which thou didst not plant; and thou shalt have eaten and be satisfied;

¹² then take·​·heed for thyself lest thou forget Jehovah, Who brought· thee ·out from the land of Egypt, from the house of servitude^*.

¹³ Thou shalt fear Jehovah thy God, and serve Him, and shalt promise by His name.

¹⁴ You shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the peoples which are all around you

¹⁵ (for Jehovah thy God is a jealous God^◦ among you), lest the anger of Jehovah thy God be·​·fierce against thee, and blot· thee ·out from upon the face of the ground.

¹⁶ You shall not tempt Jehovah your God, as^◦ you tempted Him in Massah^*.

¹⁷ Keeping you shall keep the commandments of Jehovah your God, and His testimonies, and His statutes, which He has commanded thee.

¹⁸ And thou shalt do that which is upright and good in the eyes of Jehovah, that it may be·​·well with thee, and that thou mayest go·​·in and possess the good land which Jehovah promised to thy fathers,

¹⁹ to push·​·out all thine enemies from before thee, as Jehovah has spoken.

²⁰ And when thy son asks thee tomorrow, saying, What mean the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which Jehovah our God has commanded you?

²¹ Then thou shalt say to thy son, We were Pharaoh’s servants in Egypt; and Jehovah brought us out of Egypt with a firm hand;

²² and Jehovah gave signs and miracles, great and evil, on^◦ Egypt, on^◦ Pharaoh, and on^◦ all his house, before our eyes;

²³ and He brought· us ·out from thence, that He might bring· us ·in, to give us the land which He promised to our fathers.

²⁴ And Jehovah commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear Jehovah our God, for our good all the days, to keep· us ·alive, as it is this day.

²⁵ And it shall be our justice, if we observe to do all these commandments before Jehovah our God, as He has commanded us.
