In Revelation 5:1, the book being written on the back signifies the Word in its general sense. (Apocalypse Revealed 256)

In Ezekiel 8:16, this signifies denial of the Lord God, one of the abominations of the decadent Jerusalem. (Apocalypse Explained 401[32])
