32 But Eliseus sat in his house, and the ancients sat with him. So he sent a man before: and before that messenger came, he said to the ancients: Do you know that this son of a murderer hath sent to cut off my head? Look then, when the messenger shall come, shut the door, and suffer him not to come in: for behold the sound of his master's feet is behind him.

Verse 32. But the Divine Word is established in Divine Good conjoined with all Divine Truths; while from the corrupted church proceeds the false principle; and this is perceived by Divine Truth, which teaches the real quality of falsity, as being grounded in evil, and desiring to destroy essential truths; and therefore that it is necessary that it should be opposed by closing the interiors against it, and by resisting it with ultimate truths. For where falsity insinuates itself, it is from evil in the background.
