3771. 'And they would roll the stone from over the mouth of the well' means that they opened it up. This is clear from what has been stated just above in 3769 about the meaning of 'a large stone over the mouth of the well' as the fact that the Word was closed up. From this it is evident that 'they would roll the stone from over the mouth of the well' means that they opened it up.
