79. The celestial man is a garden such as this. But because it is the Lord's, though he is free to enjoy all things in it he is not free to take possession of them as his own, verse 15.

'Rivers' or 'floods' signify temptations. 'Rivers' signify truths in abundance serving the rational self, and so, the understanding, for the purpose of doctrine and life.

In Isaiah 43:2, 'rivers' and 'waters' signify difficulties and falsities.
